MEMENTO MORI Gold Victorian Hair Brooch Mother of Pearl
Excellent example of Victorian memento mori.
"Mother" is made of human hair and so are the flower petals. Flower centers are natural pearls.
Gold case, irredescent mother of pearl background. Case tests 14K with black enamel.
Excellent condition except one spot in the enamel. (11 o'clock, outer line)
All original parts. c1860.
Weighs 9.2 grams.
Measures approx. 1 1/2 x 1 1/4 x 5/8 inches.
